How I Work

I work with marketing agencies and small businesses to create content for their websites.​

My process is simple, transparent and collaborative. Here are the steps we would typically go through for each copywriting project:

1. Scope

I need to understand your requirements and goals so I can work out how much work is involved. To do this, I will send you a brief with questions, like:

  • What do you need the copy for? Website, blog, article, or social media?

  • How many pages do you need?

  • What pages do you need? Home, About, Services etc.

  • How much content have you prepared yourself?

  • What length you'd like each page to be, do you require a specific number of words?

2. Proposal

Based on the above information, I'll provide you with a quote. For bigger projects, you'll also receive a proposal outlining details of the project with terms and conditions. 

3. Deposit

If you're happy with the quote and proposal, I'll send an invoice for 50% of the quote. Deposits are non-refundable and non-negotiable.  

4. Timings

I work as closely as possible to the timelines agreed on, but this will also depend on how much information you can provide and how quickly you get back to me with amends.

5. Briefing

At this stage, I'll send you a briefing form with more questions. We then have a quick discussion about the brief, usually on Google Meet, but if you prefer, a phone call or if practical, in person. The questions will relate to your:

  • Target audience

  • Business goals and marketing goals

  • Competitors

  • Brand personality

6. Work

Once I've received your 50% payment upfront, signed proposal and any background material, I can start working on your project. 

7. Drafts & Amends

You can expect to receive three versions which means you have two rounds of amendments.

8. Review

You will need to carefully review and sign off the draft version, and make sure it meets the brief. Once you've signed off your approval, I'll send an invoice for the final payment to be made. 

9. Final Payment

Payment terms are seven days. When payment has been received, I will send you the final version of your copy which has been proofread and is ready for publishing.

10. Celebrate!

The project is now signed, sealed and delivered. I ask every client for a Google Review, and permission to feature their testimonial on my website.
